A Fairytale in Woodbridge
In 2002, Darryl and I met at an Alexander O'Neil dinner concert in a DC nightclub. Darryl said it was love at first sight, (and I'm very happy to know that), but I do think that my British accent had a little to do with it though! So, after joining his table, we all enjoyed the show and each other's company and before we left, he asked me for my phone number.....  ......in 2003 we had arranged our dream wedding in Jamaica for September 17th, 2004 (it had a special meaning because it was Darryl's milestone birthday also). People were attending from Virginia, Maryland, New York, Maine, Ohio, Texas and England. Unfortunately, hurricane Ivan came and blew away our plans...... Not to be deterred, we went ahead to the courthouse, and had a simple wedding and a small house party afterwards, and rescheduled Jamaica for January 2005.  Jamaica was a dream; out came the fairytale dress,
and Darryl's princess walked along the garden path into the chapel to meet him there.
He looked so handsome in his tuxedo....We had chosen the unity candle renewal of vows ceremony, which
went very smoothly (after nudging Darryl, because he missed his cues whilst staring at me).Rita-Marie and two former Adler Center midwives (Nancy Thamel and Misti Neil) were there to join us, and my mom had come from England too. Perfect! We had a fantastic time, and we'd do it all over again (with each other, of course)! Here are a few of our favorite pictures that we'd love to share with you all.
