Rita-Marie's Surprise Birthday Party
 Rita-Marie Goudreau,
one of our Certified Nurse Midwives,
turned the big "30" in February. Her friend, Pete, decided to give her a surprise
party. He invited her
friends, family and the entire Adler Center staff. Everyone knew about the party for
weeks. It was inevitable
that Rita would figure it out???......The party was held at a local restaurant in Fredericksburg. It was on a Friday night so of course the traffic was outrageous! We all got there before Rita and waited for her to arrive. As she was being escorted by her girlfriend, April, down the hall to the party room, we held our breath hoping to surprise her. She walked in the room and was astonished. She had absolutely NO IDEA she was walking into a surprise party for herself!! She was so overwhelmed that she didn't even know what to say - (which is unusual for her!!) She was given a "Happy Birthday" crown to wear which, of course, she did willingly. Needless to say, we all enjoyed great food, a wonderful Mud pie birthday cake and then Pete presented a slide show of Rita's life from childhood to present. She then opened her presents. She loves jewelry, so of course she got tons of it! She ended up wearing them all - she couldn't wait to try them on! Needless to say, everyone had a terrific time!
