What insurances do you accept?
We accept most insurances.  For a current listing, go to our Contact page or call your insurance company to find out if we are listed on your plan.

Where are you located?

You can go to our Locations page for directions to both our Woodbridge and Stafford office locations.

What do I need to do to obtain a copy of my medical records?

You will need to fill out a Request for Medical Records form which can be obtained from our office or on-line.  Once you have provided us with the completed form, we will provide the records to you within 15 days.  Please note:  as stated on the records request form, there may be a charge for your medical records.

How far in advance do you book appointments?

We always have at least three months’ worth of appointments available for scheduling.

I don't have insurance.  Can I make a payment plan?

If you don’t have insurance and you need to schedule an appointment for an annual exam or an elective procedure (such as a depo-provera injection, a Tubal Ligation, an IUD, etc.) we expect payment in full at the time of service.  If you are experiencing a gynecological problem and need to be seen right away, we will try to work with you in setting up a payment plan.  Typically we will set up payment plans that need to be paid within 90 days.

Why am I being charged for a No Show fee?

We make every effort to accommodate our patient’s scheduling needs.  When someone does not show up for an appointment or call to cancel or reschedule, we lose the ability to fill that slot with someone else.

Why can't I be treated for a problem when I have my annual exam?

When scheduling your appointment, we provide you with the time slot that is appropriate for your visit.  If you are scheduled for an annual, we will do your annual.  If you have a GYN problem, we will treat the problem and bring you back at a later date for your annual.  This is due to two reasons, 1.  the time allotted in our schedule and 2. your insurance company will not pay for both if performed at the same time.

Why do I have to fill out the same forms every year even if my information hasn’t changed?

It is our office policy that you provide us with current, up-to-date information so that we are able to bill your insurance for you, as well as provide you with your results.  Our forms not only provide us with your personal information, but also with permission to release information to the person(s) or your choice.  Patient information needs to be verified and updated with a current signature each year in order to verify accuracy.maria and izela

Why do I need my insurance card with me if you already have it on file?

We need to verify that we have the proper insurance information on file for you not only for our billing purposes, but also for any labwork you might need.

I know that I am pregnant and will need to be seen every month.  Will I be able to see a doctor or the same provider at every visit?

All of our providers are available for appointments to our obstetrical patients.  However, our midwives are actually the providers who deliver our patients.  Our physicians provide 24 hour back-up for them. Our physicians will typically only deliver a patient who needs a cesarean section, a forceps or vacuum delivery or are high risk or delivering twins.  We encourage you to try to see each of the providers at least once during your pregnancy so that you’ll be familiar with them when it comes time for your delivery.  A different midwife is on call every day – you never know who will actually deliver you.

Can I still be seen for my annual visit if I started my period?

Not if your flow is heavy or steady.  If you are just spotting, we can still see you for your annual. If you need to reschedule, please be sure to call the office prior to your appointment.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes.

What hospital do you use for deliveries and surgeries?

Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge, Virginia.

I have a question regarding a bill I received.  Who do I need to talk to?

You can contact our billing department located in our Woodbridge office at (703) 680-5327 option 4.

Why do I have to pay to get a prescription refill or for getting a disability form filled out?

Due to the increasing costs in our office and the decreasing insurance payments, we have been forced to make some changes in the way we do things at our office.  We will charge for a prescription refill if you are calling for another one due to losing the one provided to you, or if you forgot it at home and need it for a refill or radiology service.  Disability forms are filled out for employers – they are not a routine medical service.

If my daughter is under 18, how can she go to an appointment without me?

In the state of Virginia, minors are deemed adults for the purpose of consenting to: treatment of venereal diseases, infections or contagious diseases which require the provider to make a report to the Department of Health or services related to birth control, pregnancy or family planning (excluding sterilization).

I just found out that I'm pregnant.  When should I schedule my first appointment?

Your first appointment should be scheduled when you are 8-12 weeks pregnant.  If you are experiencing any problems, please call to schedule an appointment sooner.
