2005
- A Great Year for The Adler Center
The Adler Center has had a very
productive year. We now have four physicians. We've found a midwife who
is not only clinically knowledgeable, but fluent in Spanish as well. We
implemented our call center in the Woodbridge office which has greatly
improved our telephone communications. Our billing department now has
four staff members to assist our patients with their insurance and
billing questions. We continue to publish our monthly E-Newsletters and
hold our free monthly Women's Health Seminars. Our website is
constantly being updated with current information to include some
Spanish. We have hired another midwife, Terri Chambers, who we look
forward to working with January of 2006.
In the upcoming new year, the Adler Center is committed to continue to
provide the optimum in health care and education to our current and
future patients.

The
Annual Adler Center Holiday Party
|
|
|
Our
annual holiday party was held on Friday, December 2nd at the Westridge
Swim and Racquet Club. We had great food, dancing, and even door prizes
for everyone! We danced to the Macarana, the Electric Slide, the Cha
Cha Slide and, of course, Salsa. It seemed like the night flew by and
it was over before we knew it. We'd like to share some of our party
photos with our readers. Our photographer, Tara Weber, (one of our
nurses) did a great job! Do you recognize everyone?

Food
as Medicine? Rx: Eat Better, Feel Better!
|
|
|
(By Susan Gennaro, Every
Woman Magazine, Winter 2004)
Most women want to make time for regular exercise and healthy eating
but recognize that the demands and stresses of a full- time career,
family, and social life leave little room for fitting everything in.
They are intrigued by the barrage of diets available. The low-carb, no
carb, sugar-bustin', and point-counting regimens appeal to the desire
to shed extra pounds, but who has the time and energy? What women need
is more balance, better choices, and a way to fit activity into
everyday life.
Most Americans are seriously
overweight. Two- thirds of us weigh more than we should. And it's
killing us: Being overweight leads to 300,000 deaths a year from
cancer, diabetes, and heart disease--all deaths that might have been
prevented.

The
Werner's Baby Story
|
|
|
My son Joey was going to be 2
years old in 2 months, and my husband and I decided we wanted to try
for another child. We were planning on waiting for Joey to turn two,
but after talking to other people, they told us it might be harder to
get pregnant the second time around. We had no problem getting pregnant
with Joey. First month and we were pregnant. So we started trying
early. Little did we know what was in store for us.
We started trying and on
Mother's day weekend I started spotting for two days. I figured I
wasn't pregnant and we would have to try again. Everyone was right.
Well the spotting went away, but the tests kept coming back negative.
Finally a week later, we got a positive test. I was more tired and sick
then I ever was with Joey. I just thought every pregnancy is different,
boy was I right.
